Bulgarian Network for Child and Youth  Trafficking Prevention
(BNCYTP)

BNCYTP works to:

  • Improve the enrollment in quality non-formal and formal education of children and youth at risk of being trafficked or exploited
  • Build bridges between formal and non-formal education programs.
  • Provide capacity building to civil society organizations allowing them to protect and defend children's rights.
  • Promote effective collaboration among civil society organizations and government
  • actors in order to ensure that quality educational opportunities are available to vulnerable to trafficking young people and children.

BNCYTP Vision:

  • We appeal for a common understanding that human trafficking needs a human rights based approach to be addressed.
  • We believe in the primacy of human rights of the trafficked persons whoshould be at the centre of all efforts to prevent and combat trafficking.
  • Anti-trafficking measures should not adversely affect the human rightsand dignity of persons, in particular the rights of those who have been trafficked.
  • Anti-trafficking programs and migration legislation should underline a comprehensive victim-centered approach.
  • The challenge to provide adequate programs on trafficking prevention requires a multi-agency approach - both at the national as well as on the regional level.
  • All relevant actors: nongovernmental groups and organizations, nationaл ministries and departments of education, and other governmental institutions should be involved in designing and implementing antitrafficking responses.
  •  Anti-trafficking programs must be socially adequate, culturally sensitive and sustainable.

BNCYTP Sphere of Work:

  •  Trafficking prevention through education, training, community outreach, capacity building, lobbying and advocacy.
  • Re-trafficking prevention: trafficking victim assistance through programs of rescue, reintegration and rehabilitation
